If not included in the policy what criteria is used to categorise severity of base of thumb arthritis into mild moderate or severe.

The categorisation of severity of Thumb Base Arthritis is done by radiological criteria, but this is not generally used clinically as pain surpasses the Xray changes. We do however have to be sure that we have the correct diagnosis if pain is very severe and the Xray changes are very mild.
