Request Summary: OPCS and HRG codes for Zoledronic acid

Request Category: Companies

Question Number 1:
What is the OPCS code in your Trust for the delivery of Zoledronic acid 5 mg for the treatment of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women and adult men at increased risk of fracture?

Answer To Question 1:
There is no specific OPCS code for delivery of Zoledronic Acid 5mg. There is a generic code for IV Infusions, which is X292. This was run past the FOI requestor who asked that we answer this FOI using this code instead.

Question Number 2:
What is the corresponding HRG code that would relate to the OPCS code from Information request 1 for the outpatient delivery of Zoledronic acid 5 mg for the treatment of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women and adult men at increased risk of fracture in your Trust?

Answer To Question 2:
The corresponding HRGs for the cohort of post-menopausal women with osteoperosis are:

HD24B Non-Inflammatory Bone or Joint Disorders with CC
HD24C Non-Inflammatory Bone or Joint Disorders without CC
HD24G Non-Inflammatory, Bone or Joint Disorders, with CC Score 2-4
HD24H Non-Inflammatory, Bone or Joint Disorders, with CC Score 0-1
HD39C Pathological Fractures without CC

There aren't any procedure codes that reflect an increased risk of osteoporosis in men therefore we are not able to provide these HRGs.

What is the OPCS code in your Trust for the delivery of Zoledronic acid 4 mg for the prevention of skeletal related events in adult patients with advanced malignancies involving bone or tumour-induced hypercalcaemia?

Answer To Question 3:
