Please provide the following data on attendances to Emergency Departments for assault-related injury for period 1st January 2018 and 31st December 2018 in excel format.
We require the following;
gender of the patient (M or F)
the date that they attended due to assault (dd/mm/yyyy)
Their age - age can either be numerical to the nearest year (preferred) or in age bands ("0-10", "11-17", "18-30", "31-50", "51+"), we can also accept date of birth.
To calculate the level of assault-related injury in England and Wales we also require the total number of attendances for any reason in the year of interest, i.e. 2018.

We are not able to provide the patient level data that has been requested here, but can provide the following summary of assault related attendances. We have split by Quarter due to the low volumes.
Total ED Attendances
Q1 - Jan to Mar 2018 = 10840
Q2 - Apr to Jun 2018 = 12494
Q3 - Jul to Sep 2018 = 12512
Q4 - Oct to Dec 2018 = 12029
Total ED Attendances Due To Assault
Q1 - Jan to Mar 2018 = 59
Q2 - Apr to Jun 2018 = 84
Q3 - Jul to Sep 2018 = 93
Q4 - Oct to Dec 2018 = 79

Q1 - Jan to Mar 2018 = 44 male and 15 female
Q2 - Apr to Jun 2018 = 53 male and 31 female
Q3 - Jul to Sep 2018 = 73 male and 20 female
