Request Summary: Complaints made to End of Life Care Strategy Group
Request Category: Private Individuals
|Question Number 1:|
Please detail the number and type of complaints made to your End of Life Care Strategy Group in the last four years.
Please break the information down into complaints per month (where possible) and what the complaint was to do with, for example poor communication, issues to do with consent or the care itself etc.
Where recorded, please also detail the outcome of the complaint.
|Answer To Question 1:|
We have only routinely reviewed end of life complaints at our EOL Steering Group since July 2017. EOL complaints are reviewed by the EOL clinical lead and or EOL Team leader and the themes are taken to the EOL Steering group on a 6 monthly basis to look at whether there are any trends or specific areas for improvement. These complaints will already have been reviewed by the relevant team at the time and so this further review is for oversight of trends and opportunities to look at EOL care quality improvements generally throughout the trust. I have attached a document with these complaints and responses. Complaints coded to EOLC at SFT since July 2017.docx
