Request Summary: Ambulatory cardiac monitoring

Question Number 1:
The following questions are in relation to ambulatory cardiac monitoring which is carried out only in the hospital setting to include any of the following day case, elective tariff, outpatients

Can you confirm which modalities the hospital has at its disposal for ambulatory cardiac monitoring i.e. how many Holter Monitors does the hospital own etc.
 
Answer To Question 1:
5 Novacor and 21 holter monitors
 
Question Number 2:
Can you provide the costs of each modality i.e. for Holter Monitoring please provide the number of Holter Monitors at the Hospital, the purchase cost of each Holter Device, any costs associated with maintenance of the monitor such as, battery replacement, servicing etc.?
 
Answer To Question 2:
Unit costs are commercially sensitive information and so the Trust applies an exemption under Section 43 under the Freedom of Information Act (please see attached Refusal Notice).
We cannot provide a cost for maintenance, servicing and repairs as we pay one fixed price to a supplier to provide parts & telephone support across our entire patient monitoring range.
 
Question Number 3:
In the financial year 2017/2018 how, many patients were monitored using each modality i.e. ECG, Holters, Reynolds Lifecard, Cardiomemo Loop, etc.
 
Answer To Question 3:
24 hr holter – 1613 (cannot separate out specific amounts of 48 hr monitors from this as they get two single 24 hr bookings)/ 7 Day – 282 / Novacor 113
