Request Summary: Blood Patch Procedures
Request Category: Media
Question Number 1:
I write to request information on the number of blood patch procedures carried out in the trust in each of the past ten years.
Answer To Question 1:
The following number of admissions have been coded with Blood Patch Procedure during the given time frame:
2009 <= 5
2015 <= 5
2018 <= 5
Question Number 2:
I also request a breakdown of:
a) the condition which the blood patch was intended to treat
b) the title of the doctor or doctors who carried out the procedure, for example, anaesthetist, neurologist, neurosurgeon.
Answer To Question 2:
We contacted the requestor on 16th September to explain that the Trust does not have easy access to this information with it being recorded in each patients individual notes, and that this would take over 18hrs to retrieve and review. We asked the requester how they would like to proceed and received no response after 21 working days, therefore we are unable to respond to this question.
