Request Summary: Atypical Parkinsonian Syndrome
Request Category: Health
|Question Number 1:|
In your trust how do you review patients with Atypical Parkinsonian Syndrome in outpatients.
|Answer To Question 1:|
When our consultant reviews patients with Atypical Parkinsonian Syndrome in outpatients, they discuss the diagnosis with the patients and the subsequent management plan which could be requesting a DAT scan at Southampton hospital or a trial of treatment with Levo dopa or wait and watch, depending on the impact of the symptoms on their level of function and quality of life.
The consultant then reviews these patients regularly to identify the underlying condition and rate of progression.
