Request Summary: Assault attendances to Emergency Department 2019
Request Category: Researcher
|Question Number 1:|
The data we require are as follows (for period 1st January 2019 and 31st December 2019)
We require the gender of the patient (M or F), the date that they attended due to assault (dd/mm/yyyy) and their age. Age can either be numerical to the nearest year (preferred) or in age bands ("0-10", "11-17", "18-30", "31-50", "51+"), we can also accept date of birth.
|Answer To Question 1:|
Due to the low numbers of assault related attendances to A&E, we're not able to provide the data broken down in the way the requester has suggested. The volumes are <=5 for many of the sub-sets and therefore the data doesn't show anything meaningful.
Instead we have summarised the data by financial quarter and gender, we are unable to provide the age of individuals, as follows:
2018-19 Q4 = 10 female and 26 male = 36 assault related attendances
2019-20 Q1 = 12 female and 20 male = 32 assault related attendances
2019-20 Q2 = 10 female and 23 male = 33 assault related attendances
2019-20 Q3 = 7 female and 35 male = 42 assault related attendances
