Request Summary: use of data integration and data analytics technology

Request Category: Private Individuals

Question Number 1:
For the following question, we understand data integration technology to be a solution that automates the moving of data in near real time to a data warehouse, data lake or in the cloud.

1. Does your hospital have a data integration technology and what is it?

Answer To Question 1:
The Trust uses MIRTH to move a small sub-set of data in near real time between systems. This is utilised by some reporting solutions.

Otherwise, the majority of data transfer is managed via SQL using automated jobs and routines which run on a daily basis. This is the core data set that is used for onward reporting, but is not real time.

Question Number 2:
For the following questions, we understand data analytics technology to mean software that aggregates and analyses data to identify patterns and deliver insights.

2. Which roles in the hospital currently have access to data analytics technology (please confirm for each of the following roles listed): Physician, Nurse, Pharmacist, Management, Accountant/Finance, HR and Recruitment, IT Office, Administrative Assistants, Data analyst/scientist (including roles such as Performance Reporting and Informatics)

Answer To Question 2:
The Trust does not currently have a data analytics technology / BI solution in place.

Analytics are carried out by the Information Services team who query the data by hand and use a range of automated reports that allow manual monitoring of trends over time.

Question Number 3:
Of those that have access to data analytics technology, please confirm whether people in the following roles are able to access the technology on mobile devices (please confirm for each of the following roles listed): Physician, Nurse, Pharmacist, Management, Accountant/Finance, HR and Recruitment, IT Office, Administrative Assistants, Data analyst/scientist (including roles such as Performance Reporting and Informatics)

Answer To Question 3:
Please see question 2.

Question Number 4:
If your data analytics technology is not available on mobile devices, please confirm whether people in the following roles must access it on desktop computers (please confirm for each of the following roles listed): Physician, Nurse, Pharmacist, Management, Accountant/Finance, HR and Recruitment, IT Office, Administrative Assistants, Data analyst/scientist (including roles such as Performance Reporting and Informatics)
