Request Summary: Biologics Pathways Request

Request Category: Health

Question Number 1:
We are doing a project at St George's Hospital, Rheumatology Department under Dr Kaul, looking at comparing the different Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis Biologic Pathways.
- We kindly request if you would be able to send us your most up to date biologic pathways for these 3 conditions.

Answer To Question 1:
We are still in discussions with our local CCG and specialists about formal biologic pathways and moving to the blueteq system in rheumatology
Our current guidelines including the place of the biologics for the conditions are found in the below links.

Question Number 2:
We would also like to know the maximum number of biologics that you commission for patients with these conditions before an IFR needs to be submitted?
NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG do not hold this information so suggested contacting you directly.

Answer To Question 2:
As long as the above guidelines and NICE recommendations are followed there is also no cap on the number of sequential biologics that would be commissioned currently.
