As part of the Back to Floor initiative, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon shadowing the ward team on Redlynch, a busy Gastroenterology ward.
Before I started, I got a small glimpse of the ward team values, working and nurse leadership qualities by reading the noticeboard – full of SOX statements from former patients or staff that highlighted the amazing leadership, kindness and attention to detail that means a lot to many patients.
I also noted leadership qualities stated in several of the SOXs about my host for the afternoon, a young sister, Rachael Ashcroft.
