Restricted Visiting on Respiratory Care Unit

Due to the number of COVID-19 positive patients currently being cared for by the Respiratory Care Unit on Farley Ward at Salisbury District Hospital the difficult decision to restrict visiting has been made. Visiting will only be considered for essential visits only.

Please contact the ward before planning a visit and consider alternative ways to keep in touch with loved ones such as the use of I-pads and other technology. The ward staff will help patients and family master the technology.

Judy Dyos, Director Nursing said “We are very sorry to have to restrict visiting in this way - it is only ever done to protect the health of patients, visitors and our staff.

It is incredibly important that people continue to adhere to all COVID-19 restrictions. Please keep your distance, wear a mask and wash your hands regularly. Together we can reduce infection and save lives.”

Our staff at Salisbury District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of NHS Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
