Reflections on the Pandemic Music and Poetry Event at Brown Street

On Monday, 13th September, the Trust held a special evening at Brown Street, the new entertainment venue in Salisbury, that featured the premiere public performance by our poet in residence Martin Figura. He was reading from his collection of emotional and moving poems that were inspired by conversations he had with staff during the spring about their pandemic experiences. Attendees included staff from across the hospital as well as our partners who have been instrumental in responding to the pandemic and rolling out the highly successful vaccination programme.

Besides Martin, the audience enjoyed performances by Stars Appeal Live Arts programme musicians Paul Young, Dan Baker and Pearl Love. The evening was hosted by Scotty D who got the audience out their seats and on their feet singing and dancing. The event was staged thanks to the generous support of the League of Friends.

The evening was part of the 'Reflections on the impact of COVID-19' project, which is currently funded by the League of Friends, and was initially funded by the Stars Appeal.
