Salisbury District Hospital - A&E is busy, hospital under pressure

Salisbury District Hospital is under tremendous pressure and our A&E is very busy. Unless you are acutely ill and need urgent hospital treatment please do not attend so that we can care for patients with severe or life-threatening injuries and illness. If you do attend, please be patient and be prepared to wait.

Please consider alternatives for treatment for minor injuries or illness, such as the Salisbury Walk in centre  . Your local pharmacist can also provide advice. If you’re not sure, please call NHS 111 or go to www.111.nhs.uk. We appreciate your cooperation during this challenging time.

We also ask for your support as we work to improve the flow of patients through the hospital. If you have friends or family waiting to be discharged please try to respond quickly to calls about their ongoing care at home or in another setting. Please don’t visit the hospital site unless strictly necessary. The hospital is open and patients should attend all appointments as normal unless directly contacted by the hospital.
