Staff self-testing process

This information is for staff of Salisbury District Hospital only

 

Patient-facing members of staff will each receive a box of 25 tests with an instruction leaflet from their ward/clinical area/department manager. The nasal swab test should be carried out twice a week on the days allocated to the individual.

 

Step 1


Carry out your test using the self-testing kit.

Step 2 


Submit the results of your lateral flow test using the self-test kit reporting form, and take any other necessary action (see below).

All results must be submitted within 24 hours of the test.

Positive result


 

Submit your result using the self-test kit reporting form


 

You and your household must isolate


 

You must call Occupational Health on extension 5638. Occupational Health will arrange a PCR test to confirm your result


 

If the result of the PCR test is negative you may return to work


 

If the result of the PCR test is positive you must isolate as per Government guidelines. You will not need to self-test using your lateral flow testing kit for 90 days

 

Invalid result


 

Submit your result using the self-test kit reporting form


 

Repeat the test using another test from your self-testing kit


 

Submit the results of the re-test using the self-test kit reporting form, and follow the other required steps appropriate for your result

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Negative result


 

Submit your result using the self-test kit reporting form


 

If your result is negative but you have symptoms of COVID-19, please call Occupational Health on extension 5638

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Tests are voluntary, but staff are encouraged to be involved to benefit their colleagues and patients.
