We have over 250 years of experience caring for our community. Our history involves Florence Nightingale caring for casualties from D Day, advances in plastic surgery and the treatment of burns, spinal injuries and innovation in rehabilitation.
We are well regarded for the quality of care and treatment we provide for our patients and our staff. 98% of patients surveyed told us that they rated their experience as very good or good and 87.8% of staff feel that their role makes a difference to our patients and service users.
Our 4,900-strong workforce is at the very centre of everything we do and our success is a testament to our amazing people. We offer a broad range of jobs from Health Care Assistants, Administration and Housekeeping roles to specialist Theatre Practitioner and Midwife roles. We are committed to developing our people and their careers and value ourselves on being an inclusive workplace, where everyone is welcome and everyone can be authentic.
We are part of the Bath and North-East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care System (BSW), and deliver a broad range of clinical care to approximately 270,000 people in Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire including:
Our hospital also includes the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, a purpose built 45 bed unit, which specialises in caring for people who have spinal cord injury. It serves a population of 11 million covering an area across most of southern England.
We are also committed to serving and supporting our local Armed Forces community, our patients, our staff and their families. Our established and growing links to the Armed Forces and the veteran community are a priority for the hospital and are supported by our large number of serving and veteran staff, and our partnerships with the military communities we serve.
