Datix shows musculoskeletal incidents and injuries reported for the timeframe requested but the data does not distinguish between those musculoskeletal injuries sustained as a result of patient handling, or for non-patient handling (such as lifting or moving equipment, working in awkward positions or fatigue during the course of the shift that cannot be pin pointed to patient handling),

We have had 12 RIDDOR’s reported as a result of handling a patient by staff member between 01/01/2018 and 21/10/2022

Answer To Question 8:
See question 7 above. The cost to the Trust is NIL as all payments are made by the NHSR .The Trust is covered by Clinical negligence scheme for trusts for clinical claims (CNST) and by other schemes for employers liability public liability (ELPL scheme). As such the NHSR act as our insurer and you would be best placed obtaining this data from the NHSR

How may claims were settled out of court per calendar year
 
Answer To Question 10:
See answer 8 above. Also this depends very much what you mean by ‘settled out of court’ .Do you mean before getting to trial when the case will have been issued in court and therefore litigated or do you mean before proceedings have been issued . Once proceedings are issued and a defence filed the matter is automatically managed by the court up to and including the Trial
