Question Number 1: My questions concern repayment fees for nurses recruited from abroad, who want to leave their employment contracts with your organisation. Could you tell me please: Does your trust’s employment contract for international nurse recruits contain a repayment clause which requires the nurse to pay monies to the trust in order to be released from its employment within a certain time frame? | |

Question Number 2: If so: I. What is the time frame from the start of the employment contract date that the repayment clause remains valid? II. What is the trust’s repayment fee amount for internationally-recruited nurses in 2023? III. What was the repayment fee amount in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022? [Please specify what this changed from/to in any of these years] IV. How many internationally-recruited nurses have left the trust and had to pay repayment fees over the last five years? | |
Answer To Question 2: 1. 3 Years 2. If you leave the Trust’s employment within 3 years of your commencement date, you will need to repay all or part of the relocation assistance that has been funded by the Trust. This would include accommodation, visa and flight. If you leave within the first 12 months 100% to be repaid If you leave within 12 to 24 months 60% to be repaid If you leave within 24 to 36 months 30% to be repaid 3. This has not changed. 4. 53 | |
