How many patients of [Trust Name] are using or have been prescribed the following medical devices for use in their home?

a. Nebuliser

b. Oxygen concentrator

c. Suction

d. Ventilator or non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP or CPAP)

e. Feeding pump

f. Powered hospital bed

g. Electric wheelchair

h. Haemodialysis machine

i. Body drier

Answer To Question 1:
a. 260

CPAP = 6000

e. SFT hold a stock of pumps from Nutricia the manufacturer. Nutricia remain responsible for the pumps in terms of their repair and replacement. 21 feeding pumps since January 2022.

f. This information is not available on a hospital basis but could be obtained from the equipment providers. These are medi-quip for Wiltshire, NRS healthcare for Dorset patients and Hampshire equipment store for hampshire patients.

g. Any patient requiring a wheel chair on discharge would be referred to the wheelchair service who would assess and provide according to their clinical assessment and patient needs.

h. Not applicable as community renal managed by Portsmouth hospital

i. nil but would be community

j. Community assessed and prescribed.

What, if any, rebate or refund schemes are made available by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust for patients in respect of the energy costs they incur running the above devices?
 
Answer To Question 2:
It is the responsibility of the equipment providers to work with the clients regarding electricity rebates.
