| Question Number 1: I kindly request your assistance in providing me with information regarding the prevention strategies implemented or planned by your NHS Trust (if available) in line with the NHS Long-Term Plan 2019. Specifically, I am interested in obtaining details about the measures, initiatives, and actions taken by your NHS Trust to address the "prevention" aspect outlined in the NHS Long-Term Plan. This may include but is not limited to: Strategies or programs focused on promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing diseases. Initiatives aimed at reducing health inequalities and improving access to preventive healthcare services. Collaborations with local authorities, community organizations, or other healthcare providers to enhance prevention efforts. Allocation of resources or funding for prevention activities. Policies or guidelines related to preventive healthcare services. This may be referred to as a "prevention strategy". I would like to see any overarching prevention strategies from the trust, not individual departments. | |
| Answer To Question 1: The Trust's 5 year 2022-2026 strategy can be found on the Trust's website here - https://www.salisbury.nhs.uk/media/5gwpjffv/ourstrategy_2022-2026.pdf One of the Strategic Priorities described in the strategy is 'Our Population' (pg. 9 onwards) which describes the Trust's aim to work alongside partners to tackle wider determinants of health and focus attention on prevention and well-being. The attached Strategic Planning Framework is an info-graphic outlining the Trust's vision metrics (7-10 year time frame) the strategic initiatives (3-5 years) and breakthrough objectives (12-18 months). In the vision metrics you will see one of the Trust's vision metrics is "Increase in Healthy Life Years" and one of the Trust's strategic initiatives is "Improving health and reducing health inequalities". All of this work aligns to the ongoing work in the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Partnership to address inequalities. | |
