Request Summary: Patient treatment options for inherited cardiac conditions

Request Category: Private Individuals

Question Number 1:
With a patient with an inherited cardiac condition (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) I would like to establish what centres within the ICS would they be under the care of?

Does Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust have a dedicated inherited cardiac conditions team.

If they do not have a dedicated team or would not treat the condition where would patients be referred to?

Specifically, would a local hospital manage drug treatment up until the stage of surgery (septal ablation or surgical myectomy)? If surgery is not offered where would the patient be referred to?

Answer To Question 1:
Patients with inherited cardiac condition would be for medical management under the Salisbury team but no named/dedicated specialist at Salisbury.
Specific surgical conditions patient would be discussed with the University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust team as they have an inherited cardiac conditions MDT as there is an evolving Wessex network.
