Question Number 11: How have insourcing and outsourcing projects impacted patient waiting times in the specialty areas you have previously mentioned? | |
Answer To Question 11: Dermatology: Insourcing has improved average wait to first outpatient appointment. Pathology: Outsourcing has provided better patient waiting times than if we had not outsourced. Radiology: The only one that impacts waits for patient appointments is Medicare who delivered 4962 scans in 2023-24 which equates to 1240.5 hours based on 15 minute scan appointments. Medicine - Cardiac MRI is also part of DM01, and outsourcing to Nuffield has now brought our wait time down to 7 weeks, eliminating a large proportion of our long waiters. Prior to this wait time was approximately 6m. | |
