John Mangan was first elected as a governor in 2016 and serves as lead governor in 2019/20 and 2020/21. John has an NHS background. He qualified in nursing and gained an MBA in Strategic Health Services Management from the University of Kent. His early career was in mental health where he pioneered the development primary care based services in Kent and Sussex. He was general manager and subsequently CEO of North Kent Healthcare and successor NHS Trusts. John is a strong supporter of the charitable sector and throughout his working life was a trustee of a number of charities providing health and social care services. He was a founder member of the Common Purpose Programme in Kent. He is presently a Parish Councillor and is a volunteer guide at Salisbury Cathedral. John is married to Anne. They have three sons and a daughter and five grandchildren. They moved to live in Hale following their retirements in 2010
