Paul Russell

Having been born at Odstock Hospital and living most of his life in the city, Paul describes himself as “a local boy, passionate about Salisbury Hospital being a key stakeholder in the local community, providing high quality healthcare and using its size as a major local employer to influence positively for all in our community”.  Prior to working in the NHS Paul had a successful career working in as an Independent Financial Adviser, as well as holding Director posts in charitable financial services organisations.  Paul began his career in the NHS in 2009 working in an unpaid voluntary role, before deciding to take up a permanent employed position at Salisbury Hospital.  During this time Paul has worked in many roles, including seconded positions at NHS England & Improvement.  Married with two sons at University, Paul continues his voluntary work being an Executive Committee member of local grassroots football club Clarendon Juniors FC, whilst also managing their men’s Sunday league team and being a qualified referee.

Our staff at Salisbury District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of NHS Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
