Electric vehicle charging points have been switched on at Salisbury District Hospital – and any members of the public can use them to recharge their own electric cars when visiting the hospital.
Ian Robinson, Head of Facilities said:
“We are committed to becoming more eco-friendly and are proud to be one of only a few NHS Trusts in the country to offer this service and to provide such a large number of charging points. The hospital receives a high volume of traffic with hundreds of staff and patients visiting the site each and every day, so offering electric vehicle charging makes complete sense. It reduces the environmental impact of travel by our staff and supports sustainability in the local community.”
On Wednesday 9th September, World EV Day, the hospital launched 14 new 7kw (Type 2) untethered Fast Chargers for electric vehicle charging.
Located in the hospital’s Upper Spinal Car Park, these are available for patients, visitors and staff. The chargers are managed by BP Chargemaster and are available to members of the Polar Network.
