BUGS would like to say a very big thank to Luca King’s family for their donation of £800. This will be used to help fund day trips for families and allow children connected to BUGS to go to on camps. We really   appreciate the support.

RAL-Displays, Leicester Supports BUGS

We recently took RAL-Displays up on their offer that supports charities & non-profit organisations by donating a FREE 2 metre high by 0.85 metre wide printed pop-up banner stand with carry bag. We first used the banner at our Family Fun Day at Create at the Cove. Thank you RAL-Displays, it looked fantastic. (www.popup-stands-uk.co.uk)

Marwell Zoo Families Day Trip - 11th May

On Saturday 11th May we funded a trip to Marwell Zoo for children and their families. Everyone had a great time, taking the opportunity to share experiences, and make new friends. Thanks to Nicola Beavan for organising the day and to those who have donated to make this possible.

Family Fun Day at Create at the Cove

We are so grateful to have received a donation this year to fund children with a burn injury to attend an activity day. The first of these days was on Saturday 13th October at Create at the Cove in West Lulworth, Dorset. It looks like it was a fun day. Thanks to our organiser Nicola Beavan, the hospital's Paediatric Burn Outreach Nurse and Create at the Cove.

Burns Camp 2018

We took 10 children and 3 chaperones to camp this year. The camps continue to be a huge benefit to children who gain amazing confidence through attending. One camper said “ I was burnt 3 years ago at 13 and I thought I had lost my beautiful body, but coming to Camp and meeting other children with burns and discovering the burn Camp Family I feel I have got my beautiful body back.”

Quiet Room Update July 2018

In July we decided that our Quiet Room on the Burns Unit was due an update. We had chairs recovered by the hospital's recycling centre, had a move around and updated the bookshelf.
