There is also a dedicated anticoagulation service led by nurse specialist. This service supports patients on warfarin and other blood thinning drugs, initiates treatment of acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) and provides counselling for patients with thrombophilia.
