From April 1st 2021, NHS genetic testing in England is specified by the National Genomic Test Directory and referral criteria should comply with these requirements.
Referrals outside the scope of the Test Directory and its associated criteria will not be funded by NHS England and will be subject to a charge.
A summary of how to use the Test Directory for rare disease referrals is provided by our Clinicians' Guide to the GMS.
The Genomics Education Programme team have created ‘genomic notes for clinicians’ - GeNotes - a quick, concise, library of information to help healthcare professionals make the right genomic decisions at each stage of a clinical pathway.
