SCAR MANAGEMENT

We deliver a multidisciplinary approach to scar management, with access to a broad range of therapies to help with common problems associated with scarring.

Common problems include:

Pain
Itching
Contractures/tightening affecting bodily functions, movement of joints, or appearance
Pigmentation
Hypertrophic scarring – thick, raised, red, itchy
Keloid scarring – raised, firm scarring, often larger than the original wound or scar line
Atrophic or “stretched” scarring
Psychological distress

Services and therapies we are able to offer:

Assessment and advice
Physiotherapy
Occupational therapy
Laser
Steroid injections
Medication to relieve symptoms
Surgical release/reconstruction of contractures
Surgical resurfacing
Psychological assessment and management
