A buzzing market town
Salisbury has been an important provincial city for more than a thousand years, with architecture ranging from medieval walls and half-timbered Tudor townhouses, to Georgian mansions and Victorian villas, as well as the iconic Salisbury Cathedral (and the UK’s tallest spire). Today the town is a lively and fun place to live, with the buzz of the nightlife and restaurant culture, a lively arts scene and regular festivals meaning there is always something going on.
Great connections to other cities
Salisbury has excellent road, rail, bus and coach links to Bath, London and the south coast. Two main rail routes intersect Salisbury, with a direct route to London Waterloo that takes less than 90 minutes. The cosmopolitan cities of Bristol and Southampton and the tourist meccas of Bath and Bournemouth are all within easy reach, whilst the Swindon Designer Outlet offers plenty of retail therapy nearby as well.
